Hello,

Thanks for stopping by.
The weather is lovely here in Savannah…makes a nice change from the last few weeks up in Canada. I was onboard the Norwegian Gem for four ten day cruises, sailing from New York City to Halifax, Quebec, Newfoundland and Cape Breton. It really is beautiful country up there but this year the splendor was marred by foul weather. Still there were moments that could only be described as awe- inspiring.

To say that I met and hung out with a colourful cast of characters would be putting it mildly. Here they are:
Dr. Scott Lewis,hypnotist
Jeff Harms, comedian.
Greg London, vocal impressionist
David Merry, comedy magician.
Michael Ziegfield, ventriloquist Second City, comedic actors.
Acacia String Trio…Clara Oman,pianist/singer/songwriter.
Jay Chalmers, pianist/vocalist,
J D Daniel, pianist/vocalist
The Cape Breton Folkloric Trio and The Norwegian Gem Production Cast.

It was an honour to be included amongst all of these talented entertainers. I won’t pretend that being away from home and family wasn’t difficult…I certainly had more than a few ‘down’ moments. However I do realize it’s not everybody gets the offer to perform in a state of the art theatre in front of several hundred folks and have every need attended to and stay on a beautiful ship and meet wonderful entertainers, staff members, crew and many delightful passengers…so I won’t whine!!  Thank you again Norwegian Cruise Line for the invitation and I look forward to my 2013 sailings.
It would not be an understatement to suggest that the O’Donoghue’s of Drogheda are very proud of our own Colin who has secured an ongoing role in ABC’s ‘Once Upon A Time’ playing the role of Captain Hook. He is a supremely talented actor and musician and a hearty ‘Congratulations Colin’are in order.
We have just about completed the work of putting together our  O’Donoghue Thistle and Shamrock Tour for next summer, and as the title suggests we are going to both Scotland and Ireland. The Tour begins in Edinburgh on July 10, 2013 and ends in Dublin eight days later. Four days in each country…lovely accommodations, full sightseeing schedule, some sing along sessions, jokes, toasts, stories and camaraderie…and we were able to arrange for our long time driver/guide Owen Mohan to drive us for the whole trip. Please click onto our Tours page here on the website for full details and should you have questions please feel free to get in touch with me directly at: hodmusic@aol.com or on my Facebook page.
Carroll Brown and I will embark on our annual Celtic Christmas Tour in December. I will post our concert schedule in a few weeks. If you are interested in having this terrific, easygoing, unusual, delightful (ahem!) show come to your local community hall, church or performing arts centre, again please contact me. We have some dates still available, but not many.
I will be here in Savannah at Kevin Barry’s a fair bit between now and the end of the year…come see me if you’re in town.

I’m also off to the Shannon Pub, Buffalo on November 8-9-10, preceded by two performances in Katie O’Donald’s, Bluffton South Carolina on Wednesday, November 7.

The Green Island Radio Show was first broadcast on November 28, 1992…that makes us 20 years old in a few weeks. Thanks for your support through the years, and if you have never listened to the show…shame on you!!! We stream live at gpb.org…Saturday – 9.00pm and Wednesday – 11.00pm…Eastern Standard Time.
It’s getting closer to February and our grand adventure on the high seas with Joanie Madden and friends…I’m one…it’s not too late to sign on and come along…simply call this number and tell them I sent you… Joanie Maddens Folk ‘n Irish Cruise. February 2 -9, 2013.  1 877-379-9177…or email at: info@joaniemaddencruise.com.

That’s about it for now. Take care and I’ll see you out there.

All the best,

Harry O'Donoghue
